The Proposal!

     What do people think first when they think of Starbucks? What was the original Starbucks like and how has it changed into what it is today? How did Starbucks get its name? Where did atmosphere come into play when designing these coffee shops? What specifically makes Starbucks so welcoming and comfortable for people to hang around and drink coffee in? I would like to learn more about how Starbucks has impacted the world historically, politically, culturally, and economically because those kinds of questions will broaden my research on them. I want to study Starbucks because of its entertaining yet serene atmosphere that it provides for its customers. It is a great place for me to get out of the house and study in a peaceful environment. It’s also a decent place to take a girl out on a first date to get to know each other and most importantly allows me to feel comfortable as if it is a home away from home. I like that the fact that there are not many distractions there that could interrupt or take away a good one-on-one or group conversation. It is an environment where one is forced into spending time conversing with friends and loved ones. Anywhere else you go televisions are constant distractions that interfere with the possibilities of a better time having a good conversation.
